Scientific Games, a Nevada company, has been in the gambling business for a while but cannot rest on their prior accomplishments. After the landmark Supreme Court case in early 2018 that invalidated the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, other states have started to legalize sports betting, drawing business away from Las Vegas. In order to survive these turbulent changes, Scientific Games has purchased Don Best, a Canadian company known for supplying "real-time betting data for North American sporting events." Scientific Games' acquisition is already paying off, because they have recently obtained a partnership with Caesar's to power the entertainment giant's sports betting in Philadelphia. As other casinos look to enter sports betting, they will want to partner with companies that provide the best data for sporting events. Right now, that looks to be Scientific Games.
