More than a million Americans suffer from sepsis every year, and this potentially fatal condition has been on the rise. Novacyt, a global clinical diagnostics specialist, has recently announced that Primerdesign, its molecular testing division, has expanded its assay development contract with Immunexpress, a molecular diagnostic company based in US. The two companies have been collaborating for years, and this partnership expansion would further support the development of rapid diagnostic assays needed for detecting sepsis. Immunexpress has already filed multiple patent applications for detecting sepsis based on biomarkers.
