A surprising name to see in this sector, State Farm was recently granted their first patent in AI Biotech. The patent describes determining biometric characteristics and generating an overall health score and longevity metric for an individual.
This technology could surely be used in two ways. Up front, could insurance agencies require individuals obtain a health score in order to get insurance, or to get it at a good rate? With the rise of IOT and edge computing, it would also not be surprising to see this idea used in cars as well, observing the habits of drivers. Who else will surprise us and enter this space next?
