Mustafa Suleyman, one of the three co-founders the AI lab DeepMind, is moving to Google. While specific details of the transition are unknown, Suleyman will be working alongside Jeff Dean (head of AI) and Kent Walker (Chief Legal Officer) to help shape Google's AI policy.
Despite DeepMind achieving great success with it's AI technologies, their expenditures ($618 million) far outpaced their revenue ($135 million) in 2018, resulting in a total debt of more than $1.3 billion.
DeepMind was bought by Google's parent company, Alphabet, in 2014.
