Goodyear has maintained an active presence in the autonomous tire space by releasing new and innovative concepts and prototypes. In 2018, the company released an intelligent tire prototype with a complete tire information system that includes a tire, sensors, and cloud-based algorithms that all work together to communicate in real-time with fleet operators via a mobile app. In 2021, Goodyear started to roll out this technology for vehicles fleets, starting with cargo vans in the construction and delivery industries. Goodyear focuses on collecting information about wear on the tire and has a few applications for tire temperature sensing.
