Sekisui Specialty Chemicals America, a subsidiary of Sekisui America Corporation headquartered in Secaucus NJ, is developing a PVP copolymer for harsh chemical packaging. The water soluble film is useful in unit-dose chemical packaging. The film includes a water soluble saccharide and a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer consisting essentially of vinyl alcohol and vinyl ester monomer and a pyrrolidone comonomer. The compositions provide a water-soluble film that is biodegradable and resistant to harsh, oxidizing chemicals.
