In February 2019, Idaho based sustainable plastic resin product manufacturer BioLogiQ received their first allowed patent since being founded in 2011. Since then, the company has gone on to apply for another patent (recently published) relating to the formulation process for their biodegradable, starch-based resins. Just as importantly, in March they announced a partnership with Dow to develop more plant based products. BioLogiQ will be able to use Dow's R&D capabilities as well as plastic resin sales and distribution network to aid in this work. More patents are likely to come.
