In May of 2020, we highlighted TIPA’s patent application for a biodegradable sheet and Aquibio using TIPA’s bags for its distribution of organic foods. Then, in December of 2020, we spotlighted TIPA and its increasing patent portfolio and partnerships. Thus, it comes as no surprise that TIPA continued its growth with its partnership with PerfoTec.
PerfoTec is absent from the Biodegradable Packaging Patent Forecast®, however, it has patented laser technology for making perforations in plastic film material and is a shelf-life extension specialist. Together, these companies have combined technologies to create a microperforated compostable film to reduce food waste, pollution, and carbon emissions.
This is another advantageous partnership that TIPA has gained over the past year due to its technology, and it clearly has no intentions of slowing down. All competitors in the biodegradable packaging industry and related companies (e.g. distributors, grocery stores, waste management companies) should be aware of TIPA and its constantly expanding patent portfolio and partnerships.
