Patents are about solving problems and planning for the future. Innowaytors appears to be succeeding at doing both.
Innowaytors doesn’t have a website but it does appear to be partnering with discoverSTEM, a mentoring program. DiscoverSTEM has mentored over 100 patent applicants, sent students to top universities, and had students win innovation titles at various competitions (e.g. Conrad Innovation Challenge and NASA innovation competition). The program is designed to have students think like an innovator and create patentable STEM solutions. Innowaytors only has one patent application filed (as shown in the Patent Radian® below), but it claims that many of the students have patents pending. It is currently unclear if these applications will be assigned to Innowaytors or to another company. However, discoverSTEM appears to be a fairly successful program for developing innovators so it is definitely worth watching to see the students that come out of the program.
The patent application is directed towards a biodegradable bottle cap, which could be beneficial to all bottle manufacturers, such as Coke, Pepsi, Loews Corporation, and Amcor PLC. Innowaytors could provide a patent licensing or acquisition opportunity for these companies and many others as it does not appear that they are selling or planning to sell the products/ideas produced by their students.
