March 31st saw a couple of patent grants for topical cannabinoid formulations for treating skin conditions including acne and psoriasis.
Patent 10,603,344, assigned to Canopy Growth, is for a topical made from the extract of Futura 75. Grown in the mountains of Italy, Futura 75 hemp is very low in THC with a moderate amount of CBD (~1-3%) making it quite desirable for topical applications. It is claimed to treat dermatological conditions such as acne and psoriasis.
The second patent (US Pat. No. 10,603,301) for a topical cannabinoid formulation comes from Israeli company One World Cannabis. Notably, the patented formulation is made from a 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD and treats inflammatory skin disorders like psoriasis.
