In March, Samsung announced a collaboration with Calm, a popular sleep and meditation app. Recently, Samsung increased the use cases for Samsung Health, making it available to a wider range of populations. The company's further commitment to sleep and health has been well documented in its intellectual property, as the company is the fourth largest patent owner in the space. Now, they have received their eighth issued patent in the consumer sleep technology space of 2019, which focuses on detection of sleep state and communicating the related data to another electronic device. Considering industry trends, it would not be a surprise to see Samsung launching further partnerships to make increased use of the sleep data it is collecting.
