InteraXon is the maker of the Muse™ headband, an EEG-based headband which offers real-time feedback about your mind, body, heart and breath. Their flagship device is the Muse 2 headband, released in early 2019.
Last January, the company also unveiled a new sleep meditation headband, known as the Softband, as it made a pivot towards sleep. The Softband is intended to help users fall asleep using meditation. InteraXon also also has a granted patent for an an eyeglass frame with an EEG sensor and an EOG sensor, which could help integrate their technology in everyday life even more.
Since the Softband announcement, InteraXon has filed multiple patent applications, recently made public, regarding associating music with brain-state data. This week, the company announced its newest product, Muse Meditation skill for Amazon Alexa. The Muse Meditation skill includes free guided meditation collections, including sleep, happiness, and stress. Alexa speakers could be used to provide music determined to be more impactful for specific users during meditation.
Increased integration with Alexa not only helps make meditation more accessible to customers, but presents new questions on integration. By connecting a headset to Alexa, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the company further integrating with smart devices throughout the home, providing for automatic environmental control to assist in meditation and sleep.
