NetraDyne, a California based startup focused on deep learning and computer vision solutions for driver analytics and safety, recently gained another partnership, this time with OmniVision, a digital imaging company. NetraDyne only recently joined the edge computing sector with two patents being issued in 2021. Despite its recent entrance, it is a company to watch because of a partnership with Amazon in February of 2021 to supply solutions for Amazon’s delivery fleet.
NetraDyne is bringing a unique market to the edge computing sector, with both of its issued patents relating to video storage on edge computing devices. Clearly, it is doing something unique because one of its patents was issued before the patent application was even published. It can also be expected that NetraDyne will continue building a portfolio, with one child application already filed based on its most recent patent (U.S. Patent No. 10970333).
While NetraDyne has a small patent portfolio at the moment, with strong partnerships in place expect it to grow quickly in a unique space of edge computing. It will also be noteworthy to watch if NetraDyne will become an acquisition target for Amazon to bring its solutions in-house, which may be a good move for Amazon due to the scale of commercial driving it does.
