Google has been making forays into the demand response sector, highlighting their most proliferative period leading up to 2019 with their release of Nest, a home thermal regulation system. Their adaptation of demand response, called Seasonal Savings Tuning, uses minute fluctuations to adjust temperature according to the outside temperature. Competing Alexa devices from Amazon may have contributed to upping security on the newer device version. They have also recently collaborated with Southern California Edison to develop a more effective response on hotter days.
