ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Co. is the research branch of ExxonMobil, an American multinational oil and gas corporation headquartered in Texas. The company was formed in November 1999 through a merger of Exxon and Mobil, and is one of the worlds largest companies by revenue. ExxonMobil's current research is focused on three areas of energy use: Transportation, Power Generation, and Manufacturing. They are also focused on numerous green options of energy production including biofuels, carbon capture, and natural gas. Since 2000, ExxonMobil has invested $16.5 billion in research and development.
