PsiQuantum is a leading developer of photon qubit quantum computers. It believes that quantum computers can only be useful once they have at least 1 million qubits and that photonic qubits are the only path to achieve that goal. Many of its patents are directed to specific hardware components to be used in fabricating a photonic quantum computer, including peripheral components not directly responsible for forming or storing the qubits. In 2021, it teamed up with GLOBALFOUNDRIES to build a large-scale quantum computer.
