Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan and founded in 1903, Ford Motor is American multinational automaker. Known for their automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand and most luxury cars under the Lincoln brand, Ford is one of the few American OEMs that has demonstrated interest in the traffic control patent space. Its activity spreads fairly wide across the sector and, with little market buzz from Ford, it is difficult to tell exactly what its intentions are within the technology space. However, its early activity in the space will definitely give it a leg up in comparison to other OEMs who were later to arrive or had substantially less activity.
