Founded in 2005 and based in Kirkland, WA, Inrix focuses on the data analytics side of traffic control in smart cities. Inrix's software focuses on taking raw traffic data gathered from in road sensors, video cameras, and the like and analyzing it to determine traffic conditions for that particular moment in time. This real time traffic analysis can include determining traffic speed and traffic volume. The analysis can then be used to adjust traffic controllers or be aggregated for businesses to determine how they should plan transportation routes. Having several patents in its portfolio, Inrix has not seemingly been active in the sector since securing its last published patent in 2016.
