LG, one of the top patent holders in the Thin Film Photovoltaics sector, launched its aggressive Zero Carbon 2030 initiative this week. Part of its plan for carbon emission reduction is to expand renewable energy installations using solar energy products in addition to actively utilizing its own technology solutions. Its vast patent portfolio is mainly focused on solar cell structures and methods of manufacturing them, suggesting that LG is capable of incorporating its own products to achieve a net-zero carbon emissions footprint in the next decade.
