Blackberry Limited, known for it mobile communication technology, started developing logistics technology in 2016. It continued filing patent applications through 2018, then stopped, filing only a few patents in 2019 and 2020. The applications deal mostly with tracking; a few in load management. Blackberry offers an asset tracking service, a portal-based tracking system that can report location and mileage, container on/off or door open/close, and communicate to additional wireless sensors.
