Tesco, a British multinational groceries retailer and the third-largest retailer in the world measured by gross revenue, has partnered with Recycling Technologies to begin a new technology trial. It will encourage customers to return hard-to-recycle plastics such as shopping bags, crisp packets and pet food pouches to 10 of its locations, which will then convert the soft plastics to Plaxx, a solid oil material that can be incorporated into new plastic products. This trial is part of Tesco's efforts to meet its UK Plastics Pact commitment of making all its plastic packaging 100% recyclable, reusable or biodegradable by 2025.
