Philips recently announced the launch of its expanded SmartSleep suite of solutions in the United States. Philips unveiled their SmartSleep solutions at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2019. The solutions address issues including difficulty falling asleep, snoring, and improving sleep quality. Philips hopes to address 80 percent of all consumer sleep issues globally using the expanded suite of solutions.
The SmartSleep suite includes a SmartSleep Analyzer to provide personalized feedback based on questionnaires completed by users; a SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band for positional snoring; a SmartSleep Better Sleep Program using cognitive behavioral therapy, which uses app-based components; a SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband to boost slow wave sleep; and a SmartSleep Connected Sleep and Wake-Up Light that provides a personalized sunrise and sunset to mimic the sun. Philips is partnering with Walgreens to integrate the SmartSleep Analyzer into the Walgreens Find Care platform, and with both Walgreens and BestBuy for purchasing SmartSleep devices.
Philips is the second largest assignee in the Consumer Sleep Technology sector, behind only Fitbit. Philips has a broad range of applications covering all categories of the sector (Data Processing and Analytics, Devices, Environment Control, and Sensors), making Philips well-positioned to provide consumers solutions to many different sleep issues.
