Curai wants to bring your doctor online

AI Biotech/Diagnostics: Other Innovation Patent Forecast®

October 16, 2019

Curai is a Palo Alto based healthcare startup founded in 2017. The company made news when, in January 2018, former Chief Product Officer of Netflix Neil Hunt took over as CEO. Just a few months after that, Curai announced a $10.7 million funding round that included backing from General Catalyst, Khosla Ventures, and a variety of other angels. Now, Curai has had their first patent application published.

The company seeks to use machine learning to get patients to provide information to doctors to help provide a good diagnosis while reducing grunt work. This includes photos, symptoms, or MRI results (for example) and a method of navigating the information to come to a conclusion with doctors. In the future, the company wants to develop a system to detect problems that the patient may not even be aware of.
