Massachusetts-based Akamai Networks has been slowly growing their IP portfolio, and has become the largest patent holder in the edge computing space. Notably, the company has been increasing their filings that teach blockchain aspects of edge computing technologies, and this week received their first issued patent that teaches blockchain and metering aspects. Is metering the use of edge computing power what the top patent holder in the space sees as the future?
