Red Hat just announced a major update to their Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 platform, clearly building off their success in the edge computing industry. Red Hat has been active in the sector over the past three years and is clearly one of the industry leaders in edge computing. There has been a recent gap in publications or issuances but that will likely be temporary as they shift focus from finalizing the update back to research and development. 

Notably, Red Hat has not only been active in the non-blockchain platform but has two issued patents in the blockchain category of the sector as well. The most recent update does not appear to build on that work yet, so it will be worth watching to see either a new product or another update be released that builds off that part of their portfolio.
