Toyota has insisted on maintaining a low automation ratio in its manufacturing facilities, preferring to focus on human efficiency rather than purchasing or developing robots for assembly lines. However, the auto manufacturer began investing in Cobots patents beginning in 2017. It has not yet increased its use of robots for auto manufacturing, but does have ambitions for consumer/home use based on demos at recent tech expos.
