1. A method of processing in an overlay network comprising a set of edge servers configured into groups, comprising: (9) (3)

operating a set of computing elements to receive messages from edge servers and to process those messages into a blockchain, wherein a message is associated with a transaction to be included in the blockchain, the computing elements organized as a set of computing nodes;

processing one or more blocks into the blockchain, wherein the one or more blocks are finalized into the blockchain as a live stream; and

delivering receipts associated with transactions that are processed into the blockchain using the set of edge servers by: configuring subsets of the set of edge servers to stream the receipts to client devices;

for a given set of receipts, associating segments of the given set of receipts with respective subsets of the set of edge servers, wherein a segment of the set of receipts comprises receipts from one or more transactions associated with the segment;

wherein the one or more edge servers in a respective subset each subscribe to receive a stream of receipt data, and wherein a computing element in the set of computing elements acts as an origin with respect to the stream of receipt data; and

delivering the segment of the set of receipts from the respective subset of the set of edge servers;

wherein at least one receipt is delivered in response to a request associated with a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) having an overlay network hostname that encodes a blockchain receipt segment.

2. The method as described in claim 1 wherein an edge server is configured to provide a store and forward operation with respect to a given receipt, wherein a computing element in the set of computing elements acts as an origin with respect to the given receipt. (0)

3. The method as described in claim 1 wherein the edge server configured to provide the store and forward operation is associated with a cache hierarchy. (0)

4. The method as described in claim 1 wherein a request for a particular receipt associated with a transaction is received by an edge server in the set, and wherein the edge server provides the particular receipt in response to the request. (0)

5. The method as described in claim 1 wherein a segmentation space associated with processing one or more blocks into the blockchain differs from a segmentation space associated with delivery of the receipts. (0)

6. The method as described in claim 1 further including receiving the request for a receipt from an authorized client. (1) (0)

The method as described in claim 1 wherein the overlay network hostname is associated with metadata that is configured to control delivery of a receipt, wherein the metadata is one of: an authentication attribute, an authorization attribute, a geographic attribute, a delivery option, a security attribute, and an access control. (0)

9. The method as described in claim 1 wherein a receipt delivered by an edge server is accompanied by a block header stream. (1) (0)

11. The method as described in claim 1 wherein an edge server constructs a receipt from given information received from the set of computing elements. (1) (0)

13. The method as described in claim 1 wherein at least some of the transactions that are processed into the blockchain are initiated from geographically-dispersed wallet services. (0)

A method of processing in an overlay network comprising a set of edge servers configured into groups, wherein the overlay network is associated with a set of computing elements organized as a set of computing nodes and that are operated to receive messages from edge servers and to process those messages into a blockchain, wherein a message is associated with a transaction to be included in the blockchain, comprising: (5) (2)

configuring subsets of the set of edge servers to stream to client devices receipts associated with transactions that are processed by the computing nodes into the blockchain; and

delivering the receipts associated with the transactions by: for a given set of receipts, associating segments of the given set of receipts with respective subsets of the set of edge servers, wherein a segment of the set of receipts comprises receipts from one or more transactions associated with the segment;

delivering the segment of the set of receipts from the respective subset of the set of edge servers;

wherein at least one receipt is delivered in response to a request associated with a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) having an overlay network hostname that encodes a blockchain receipt segment.

15. The method as described in claim 14 wherein the receipt is received form an authenticated client. (0)

The method as described claim 14 wherein the overlay network hostname is associated with metadata that is configured to control delivery of a receipt, wherein the metadata is one of: an authentication attribute, an authorization attribute, a geographic attribute, a delivery option, a security attribute, and an access control. (0)

17. The method as described in claim 14 wherein the overlay network is a content delivery network (CDN). (0)

18. The method as described in claim 14 wherein a receipt delivered by an edge server is accompanied by a block header stream. (0)

19. The method as described in claim 14 wherein an edge server constructs a receipt from given information received from the set of computing elements. (1) (0)
