glutaraldehyde (GA); and

one or more of alanine (A), tryptophan (W), 2-benzylbenzoyl (BB), Polycaprolactone (PCl), L-Cysteine (C), D-glucosamine (DA), dipropylene glycol (DP), p-aminobenzoic acid (pAB), L-isoleucine (I), p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS), sulfanilic acid (SA), 5-aminosalicylic acid (5AS).

2. The film of claim 1, further comprising one or more of sulfanilic acid (SA), p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS) and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5AS). (0)

3. The film of claim 1, further comprising one or more of sulfanilic acid (SA) and p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS). (0)

4. The film of claim 1, wherein the film has a thickness of about 0.02 mm to about 0.12 mm. (0)

5. The film of claim 1, wherein the film has a modulus of elasticity of about 2.2 GPa to about 4.1 GPa. (0)

6. The film of claim 1, wherein the film has a tensile strength of about 59.9 MPa to about 95.1 MPa. (0)

7. The film of claim 1, wherein the film has an antibacterial activity of reducing the number of colony forming units (CFUs) by up to about 90%. (1) (0)

11. The film of claim 1, wherein the film does not include any petrochemical material. (0)

12. The film of claim 1, wherein the film further comprises water. (0)

13. The film of claim 1, wherein the film further comprises acetic acid. (0)

14. The film of claim 1, wherein the concentration of GA is between about 0.21% and about 0.35%. (0)

15. The film of claim 1, further comprising one or more of an adipate, a phthalate, a citrate and chitosan. (0)

16. The film of claim 1, further comprising one or more of an oleic acid, a palmitoleic acid, a sapienic acid, a linoleic acid, a nitrile, a polychloroprene, a chlorinated polyethylene, an epichlorohydrin, a sabacate, a terephthalate, a gluterate, and an azelate. (0)

17. A method of making a film, comprising: (3) (4)

mixing 4,4′-oxydianiline and PMDA to form a first mixture;

heating the first mixture to form a second mixture comprising polyamic acid (PAA);

adding glutaraldehyde (GA) to the second mixture and adding one or more of alanine (A), tryptophan (W), 2-benzylbenzoyl (BB), Polycaprolactone(PCl), L-Cysteine (C), D-glucosamine (DA), dipropylene glycol (DP), p-aminobenzoic acid (pAB), L-isoleucine (I), p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS), sulfanilic acid (SA), 5-aminosalicylic acid (5AS) to the second mixture, to form a third mixture; and

forming a film after a predetermined time of incubation.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising the step of adding ethanol and dimethylacetamide (DMAC) to the second mixture. (1) (0)

20. The method of claim 17, further comprising the step of adding DMAC to the second mixture. (0)

21. The method of claim 17, wherein the incubating step is a phase inversion step selected from the group consisting of coagulation bath mediated phase inversion, heat triggered phase inversion, precipitation from vapor phase, and evaporation in non-solvent. (1) (0)

a cross-linker; and

a small molecule.

30. The film of claim 29, wherein the cross-linker comprises one or more of glutaraldehyde and carbodiimidazole. (0)

31. The film of claim 29, further comprising one or more of sulfanilic acid (SA), p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS) and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5AS). (0)

The film of claim 29, wherein the small molecule is one or more of alanine (A), tryptophan (W), 2-benzylbenzoyl (BB), Polycaprolactone(PCl), L-Cysteine (C), D-glucosamine (DA), dipropylene glycol (DP), p-aminobenzoic acid (pAB), L-isoleucine (I), p-aminosalicylic acid (pAS), sulfanilic acid (SA), 5-aminosalicylic acid (5AS).
